Mobberly Baptist Church
November 8, 2017
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
In November we will have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus by packaging nourishing meals for the least of these in our Jerusalem…East Texas. Mobberly is partnering with Numana, a hunger relief organization, to purchase and package 130,000 meals for our community. The Jerusalem Project is a two-phased churchwide mission opportunity for ages four and up to GIVE and SERVE. There are many ways to participate from donating funds and coloring food boxes to weighing and packing meals. Individuals, families, and Connect Groups can serve together in a unique way at this event.
Phase One: GIVE
$30 provides 100 meals
$65 provides one box of meals
Each meal (feeds six) is 30 cents and consists of rice, beans, small amount of soy and a dried vegetable blend. It is designed to be a base meal that pairs well with other common food pantry items, allowing the recipient to make a variation of meals if possible.
To give in person, pick up a Jerusalem Project offering envelope located around the Mobberly campus and place a donation in any of The Jerusalem Project donation stand located in The Bridge, The Crossing and by the mission wall in the South Foyer of the Worship Center.
Phase Two: SERVE
Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 • 2 – 8:30 p.m.
Assembly stations will be set up for volunteers to put the meals together. Child classes will be available for birth – children three years old. Children four years and older are encouraged to help with age appropriate tasks.
