Numana Hosts Senator Jerry Moran

At a recent Congressional Hunger Center Gala, which awarded Sen. Moran the Congressional Hunger Center Award, he told me he was planning on visiting our HQ on June 1. I was very impressed that he not only knew he was coming, he even knew when he was coming! I can’t keep my schedule straight for more than a week in advance.
I first visited Sen. Moran in Washington DC in March of 2007, when Numana was still just a dream. His cordiality and genuine interest in my dream was incredibly encouraging. In fact, he stretched a 15 minute meeting into a 45 minute meeting.
Having the Senator who cares deeply about hunger and has served on the Congressional Hunger Caucus for years, want to visit us, gave myself and our staff a tremendous boost in our efforts to eliminate hunger. Thanks, Senator, for being such a remarkable statesman for Kansas and as an advocate of the hungry.
