What is Giving Tuesday?
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
As a global movement, #GivingTuesday unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.
You can join the movement by giving below!
How Can You Be A Part?
The storm and destruction is no longer in the news, but the rebuilding of Haiti continues after Hurricane Matthew. Tens of thousands of people are displaced, crops have been wiped out, and clean water is not available.
Many have already responded and for that we are thankful. 570,000 meals have already been shipped to Haiti and another 180,000 meals will be packed this month! That leaves Numana 1,600 boxes short of sending our goal of three full shipping containers of food to our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
So, this Giving Tuesday, we’re calling on you to help us reach our goal of filling the third shipping container!
Each box provides 216 life sustaining meals! Whether you can give a box or just one meal, you are allowing relief efforts to continue into 2017 as the country of Haiti rebuilds. So this Giving Tuesday, give big and be a part of seeing restoration in the country of Haiti.
